BFVISION,
Yep to what Bill said..
I had bought a six pack...of mixed colors,
a bunch of years back...*no flowers were on the
6 pack, so, it was pot luck...
*I wanted the dark pink/purple color like my
granny had...*
I got all of the light pastel pink one's..
I was bummed..
but each year since, I've gotten flowers
******allllll over the place...********
And they've eventually mutated enough, and
I have yellow one's, and light and dark pink,
and one that almost looked white and a peach colored one...
Sooooooo, have fun with them..
They're fun, and they pop up in all the neatest places...
Just remember what the leaves look like,
cause you don't want to be pullin' up the babies.
Yes, on the momma plants are not long lived,
but do reseed prolifically...
Delphiniums can be a bit more tempermental..
Needing good drainage and lot's of sun....
I've had a few, but didn't last long..
I may have planted them a bit deep..
and I know I had it was growing too close to a
volunteer Phlox...
It got crowded out.
I know they produce seeds.
But never had them reseed at all like the foxgloves...
