I'm heading to work right now, but if we haven't heard from her by the time I get home around 2ish I will give her a call. She is probably unpacking, going to church, etc. She probably got about a foot of snow, but twas a light and fluffy snow and not much power/phone outages.......

Can someone please check up on her? I am starting to get worried also.
Posted By: weezie13 Re: Merme, Where are You? - February 13th, 2006 at 08:32 PM
Yeah, I agree...
She's been checking in at least at one
point of the day..... since she's back online...
And it's not like her to miss 2 days in a row....

Hi everyone ~ wavey

I'm just stopping by for a minute to let you all know I didn't mean to cause any undue alarm.

I'm just not feeling very well these days and with Maxi and his very NASTY gastro virus, we have been a bit swamped with health related stuff.

We didn't make it to church, either!

But today the kid managed to actually eat a small something. I fed him some plain noodles in clear chicken broth and hallelujah! it stayed put!! So he is on the mend.

I should be perking up here soon myself.

Glad you checked in Merme. I was worried a bit. you did leave us hanging with "chest pains" last week. Prayers for Maxi and you.

Glad to see you Merme. Hope you and maxi both heal quickly. You are missed around here!

Thank God, I was worried sick that something happened. Sorry to hear you are under the weather, hope you get better quickly.

Funny how I worry more over my garden family than my real family. Maybe it's because I don't like alot of my real family.lol.

Merme - I hope you and Maxi are on the mend very soon!
We miss you lots!

Hi everyone ~ wavey

Maxi was able to return to school today with a thermos of plain noodles and clear beef broth in his backpack, along with some applesauce. That's about all he can manage to eat these days. But since there was only Half Day today, I thought he would do okay in terms of his stamina, and he did just fine.

I am feeling a bit better myself today; keeping the chest pain at bay by pacing things. They've also made adjustments with my medications and that is helping as well.

LOTS is going on with my health in general these days but I can't really share much with you all at this point.

Tomorrow I see my primary team to find out more specifically some of the results of the MRI I had last week on the abdomen and pelvis. And, I'm waiting for another appointment with my nephrologist to get further information from him based on all his testing.

Meantime, I'm not speculating and trying hard not to stress. When the news comes, there will be time enough then to process the information and make decisions with careful consideration.

If any of you phone me, just remember it can take me a while to get to the phone. If the answering machine picks up, just spin out your message for as long as you can. Sometimes I just need those extra seconds to pick up.

Yes, Merme, the worring can cause more harm than some of the ailments...

Good to hear Maxi's a bit better, and you are pacing yourself..That was an aweful lot of work you all did and it's time to settle in, and do little bitty steps..

And put all of your worries on THE LORD, he's got bigger shoulders than you do!!! kissies angell

Merme, Hope you get good news today!
Posted By: Merme Re: Merme, Where are You? - February 17th, 2006 at 08:03 AM
Hi everyone ~

I was unable to get any accurate information concerning the MRI today. In fact, the whole thing turned into rather a mess.

1st, my ride to the appointment cancelled and I had to reschedule.

2nd, a nurse called me to give me the report over the phone. Immediately, she got snotty with me for cancelling the appointment without even knowing why. Then...

she went on to read a report that totally described an entirely different person! insisting all the while it was an accurate summary of me!!

If it had just been off in a minor way, that would have been one thing. But this report was so faulty it was lunacy to defend it as being accurate of me. When I commented that it couldn't possibly be my report, she was not the least bit willing to investigate further.

Was it a mix-up at the hospital where the test was run? Was it a secretarial foul up? Did the person who read the MRI and wrote the report misinterpret it? Was the nurse herself unskilled in understanding the report?

Unfortunately, the conversation took place too late in the day for me to contact anyone else, so this will have to wait until morning. Then I am going to contact the office manager of this office as well as the physician's office who ordered the exam.

There is something terribly amiss and we now have to track down the error.

Hello there Merme,
I'm so sorry you had a rough day my dahling!!!
I will never understand why a nurse or a secretary or even adoctor for that matter would argue with a patient.

I hope you get the accurate information soon.
Posted By: Triss Re: Merme, Where are You? - February 17th, 2006 at 08:40 AM
Merme, that is just beyond wrong. I cannot believe the people you have had to deal with lately in getting things done wrong and errors all over the place. Hope you get it all straightened out tomorrow.

I am sorry too, that s#cks Merme...
Give'em the ole one two tomorrow...

Hope you get your Red Rose Tea out and

Deal with all that crappola tomorrow...

I phoned my Primary's office at 9 AM to speak with the Office Manager, a lovely woman who is most helpful in all things. She is out of the office until Tuesday and the secretary wanted me to leave and voice mail and wait until then!

I said no thank you; I need to speak with someone today.

So she put me through to the assistant manager -- I'm telling ya, this is a huge medical group!

And this lady was as kind and helpful as she could be.

So there is a very big TA-DOOOO going on at the doc's office while they try to track down what in the world happened with my MRI.

Which is quite nice of them considering they aren't the ones who ordered it!

The Assistant Manager even took the trouble to call me back and tell me that she'd disrupted my own physician's schedule to get him involved with helping to solve the mystery. And, that he personally would phone me at some point today.

I told her if the shabby local facility that performed the MRI (where I was SO reluctant to go!) mixed my records up with someone else's, imagine the OTHER poor patient getting LOTS and LOTS of really bad news!

Imagine an ordinary person in relatively good health whose MRI had normal findings, sitting in the docs office and hearing all kinds of wild stuff -- the test revealed you have advanced this and that and medium these three other things and mild nonsense going on here and there oh, and by the way, you don't have a breastbone! And oh, why did you have your tubes obliverated AND get an IUD?

The poor person would be sitting there holding herself in all kinds of places saying "My WHAT?!"

Especially confusing if the patient happened to be a male!! laugh laugh laugh

So the saga continues!

"round and round she goes, folks, where she stops, nobody knows!"

Hi everyone ~ wavey

Just so you all know...

The recent medical news wasn't all that good. There will be further tests and more consultations with several different specialists and a treatment strategy will be devised.

I'm not managing any of this real well at the moment, and so I'm not really ready to be talking about it quite yet -- or much of anything else for that matter!

I apologize for my continuing absence from the forum; I don't mean to be abandoning you all. I just need time to focus on what is happening to my health and what we might do about it and how best to continue to parent my son.

It's all a little overwhelming.

But I promise I will poke in as I can to say hi and try to catch up with all of your latest news.
