I phoned my Primary's office at 9 AM to speak with the Office Manager, a lovely woman who is most helpful in all things. She is out of the office until Tuesday and the secretary wanted me to leave and voice mail and wait until then!
I said no thank you; I need to speak with someone today.
So she put me through to the assistant manager -- I'm telling ya, this is a huge medical group!
And this lady was as kind and helpful as she could be.
So there is a very big TA-DOOOO going on at the doc's office while they try to track down what in the world happened with my MRI.
Which is quite nice of them considering they aren't the ones who ordered it!
The Assistant Manager even took the trouble to call me back and tell me that she'd disrupted my own physician's schedule to get him involved with helping to solve the mystery. And, that he personally would phone me at some point today.
I told her if the shabby local facility that performed the MRI (where I was SO reluctant to go!) mixed my records up with someone else's, imagine the OTHER poor patient getting LOTS and LOTS of really bad news!
Imagine an ordinary person in relatively good health whose MRI had normal findings, sitting in the docs office and hearing all kinds of wild stuff -- the test revealed you have advanced this and that and medium these three other things and mild nonsense going on here and there oh, and by the way, you don't have a breastbone! And oh, why did you have your tubes obliverated AND get an IUD?
The poor person would be sitting there holding herself in all kinds of places saying "My WHAT?!"
Especially confusing if the patient happened to be a male!!
So the saga continues!
"round and round she goes, folks, where she stops, nobody knows!"
