does anyone know? i don't know too much about plants so i have no idea what they are...

here's the tall green one...

and here is a purple looking plant... looks almost like a tiny purple tree...

Your tall green plant could be Hibiscus syriacus,
Duh does "Rose of Sharon" ring a bell?
And I believe the second one is Perilla thumbup .

yes, i think the purple plant is definitely the Perilla laugh thanx so much!!

but i don't think the green one is Hibiscus syriacus. i looked at the pictures of the leaves and they seem slightly different. the Hibiscus syriacus have more rounded fatter tips on the leaves. [Linked Image]

where the edges of the leaves on the green plant is more jagged/sharp.

anyone have any idea what it could be?

i think that tall green plant is actually a tree of some sort. i was looking around the yard and i noticed this one giant tree has exactly the same leaves as that green plant. anyone know what type of tree it might be?

It could be a mulberry tree. They grow like weeds.

Those buds that you posted look a lot like the Hibiscus family. Maybe it is a Hardy Hibiscus?
