My neighbor across the street just let me dig up all of her beardies. She said she didn't want them flopping over onto her other
plants. (She had them on a slope.) I fairly ran over there and dug them all up. I don't even know what colors they are, yet.
I am an iris fan. The smaller, non-bearded dutch irises are from bulbs and are planted a few inches deep, but the fabulous tall bearded iris, like Sherl's, HAVE to have their rhizomes (the broad, ginger-root looking things) on the top of the soil, with the small, stringy roots under the soil, otherwise they'll be stubborn about blooming.
