Hi everyone. I'm a new member and I too love verbena, but I also have a problem with powdery mildew and the bottom leaves wilting. I tried propping up the verbena on a small trellis and that seemed to help. (Someone mentioned that verbena wasn't a perennial - I thought verbena vervain was a perennial. I'm in
zone 6 and that's what I have planted in my
flower bed. I hope it comes back next year. I have the annual version of verbena in some hanging baskets with petunias and they looked great in June and halfway through July, but by now they look pitiful.
To Gladys who asked for some shade
plants - I just started a garden with mostly shade during the day and I planted Columbine, Helleborus, Astilbe, Japanese Anemone and Lamium Maculatum. So far so good, but it's only been
growing since the beginning of June.
