From Triss "Love your blooms Tina and your snow Mel!!!"....emmm me too ...but i'd like to add that i also love da crooked tree in da pure white snow.... aahh daffs... i remember is da first flower that i rushed out to touch when i arrived in England way back in 1985... they r such a cheerful yellow... well (sigh..) i know i can never have 'em in my garden!!

But we shouldnt yearn for what we cannot have... must appreciate what we have, huh.. n here is one of my orchids in bloom... posted a similar pic some time ago..but it was from a friend's garden then...now this one is mine....

Hi Mel, Michael, Triss, Lynne n PattyM...

m very glad u r enjoying da orchid... n Mel, Orchids r not difficult plants actually...just that some r rather shy or slow to flower ...but when they do da blooms last quite a long time..

this particular one may last up to 2 or even 3 months! n it has nothing in itz little plastic container ... no medium whatsoever...but i'll have to feed it by spraying it with fertilizer periodically ...

Alba. You may be wrong about daffodils. They don't need any chilling whatsoever. A lot of other bulbs do but daffs just keep on putting out. You might be able to grow them.

Hi Tina, Weezie, Penny n Sibyl...

Thanx millions... n Tina ohh wow i would certainly love to try daffs.. but ahh had had quite a lot of disappointing experience with da post... may b i should just ...emmm watz da word to use...put it off for a while?

i did come across some similar bulbs being sold in a local Superstore some years back...was imported.. bought it of course..quite expensive tho it was... grew a bit ..then died without reaching maturity...was sad but well if i were to come across more i suppose ...i'll buy again!!

Weezie... may b u r not referring to my orchid when u mention abt being almost able to smell da flowers.... anyway just wanna add that this particular orchid unfortunately has no fragrance... i have a couple of fragrant orchids tho... sadly they r not blooming at da moment!

I thought about potting it up and bringing it inside until it quits blooming. I love how hyacinths scent the air...

I can't wait to see the others bloom...
