Nothing for me to add!
Just wanted to start a new one up for those who still have blooms to share!
Hi loz..n everyone too...
i do have some pics i'd like to share...but have not been able to access my PB...dunno watz wrong..been like this for quite some time already...anyone having da same problem?
i tried logging into photobucket the other night and it kept saying my password was wrong
i closed it then reopened it and it worked,
i have nothing blooming
Hi Sibyl...
guess what..i managed to login ...at last after all this while...n here r some of the blooms in my garden...
my Heliconia rostrata...
n my Clerodendron quadriloqulare...
a closer shot of da Clerodendron...
Hiya..wasnt able to continue...got a message saying there's a connection problem!!
Norhaini, those are GORGEOUS!!! That "Heliconia rostrata" looks like it might be related to Bird of Paradise. )(??)
WOW ! From me too! Patty, I thought the same thing you did, about how similar to Bird of Paradise it looked. So I looked it up and the common name is "Lobster Claw". Very cool!
Hi Patty n Mel...
Thanx....
dunno if they r related ... but i also have Bird of Paradise/Strelitzia reginiae..emmm not sure if i got da spelling correct there... but my BOP is a rather new acquisition n it has never flowered for me... itz been with me only a few months...
Have a nice day evry one...
You must have spelled it right, because Mel just told me that she got the common name after writing "Heliconia rostrata" in, on Google Image Search.
Those are so pretty....thanks for sharing with us who have snow!!!
Hi Penny...how r u? Remember da Lavandula angustifolia n Purple Coneflower seeds u sent me... i have some Purple Coneflowers blooming at da moment... not many coz some r done n only cones left blackening... but outta all da Lavender seeds i have one lone plant surviving... praying it will survive n gimme some seeds!!
Yesterday i could'nt continue s da connection to my PB failed... today i managed to login again... so here's da close shot of my Clerodendron...
...n a pic of some of my ever blooming Torenia...
..n my Princess Flower...
Enjoy everyone...n have a nice day!
WOW! WOW! and WOW!!!!!!!!
your pictchures are so beauitful!
Your flowers take my breath away, Norhaini!
As happy as I am with my mundane little gardens, things just dont grow like that for me here.
Now I wanna go to Malaysia!! Thanx for sharing all these.
Hi Sibyl...thanx..
Patty U'd surely b MOST WELCOME to Malaysia... well everyone is welcome too... u can come over to my 'weed-full' garden then...i find itz like fighting a losing battle trying to get rid of weeds in da garden!!
Wow!
I Love all of the flowers Alba......
I hope some of my flowers look like that this Summer.......
Or maybe we could trade gardens.....lol just kidding....although Malaysia seems like a cool place to go......
Thanks for sharing the photos....
Have a great day
P.S. Nice to see you around here
WOW Nor! Those are so beautiful! I have to visit you some time...it must be nice to not have any snow
I love that Clerodendron. How large a bloom is that, like, how many inches across, from side to side? They look really large. And so beautiful!!
I do remember those seeds Norhaini....and am glad to hear they worked well for you.
I just love looking at your pictures.....i LOVE the one that looks like Bird of Paradise.....Beautiful!!!
Hi Charlotte..m glad to b around here too...being around such lovely friends...
Kenny... u r most welcome to Malaysia...just contact me should u come over.. i may b of some help n u may b able to save lots of dollars.. BTW dont forget to 'smuggle' in some Sedum cuttings too...LOL
Hi Shirley4.. i love da Clerodendron too..unfortunately it only flowers once a year..usually soon after da monsoon... da flowers r in bunches..da close shot is of 2 bunches rather close together...thatz why da bunch looks rather large... i measured 'em last evening...side to side they measure about 20inches..
Hi Diane n Penny... m sure your garden n your flowers too r s beautiful if not more so...
Have a nice day everyone....
Do the Yellow-Vented Bulbuls like your flowers, too?
Hi Thornius...
oohh he's..oops could it b a she??.. itz always around n quite often in da house... there's s plant with small red berry-like fruits in da middle of my house..yep no roof above...rooms around of course with roofing... actually a citrus i think...i often see it 'stealing' da fruits away!!
I think the sexes are the same for the Bulbul. We don't have Bulbuls in the U.S. but they look similar to our Northern Mockingbirds or Loggerhead Shrikes, and the sexes are the SAME in appearance on these two species.
Hi Thornius...
Thanx lotz for da info... i've learnt something today... been meaning to take a pic or a video of it while it was 'stealing' my fruits away... but somehow have not been able to...
I have a few gems peeking out of the gloom.
And
And
And
OMG, Tina!!!!
It warms me so much and fills me with anticipation of spring to see your daffodils and pansies!!!!
Nothing is blooming here, but thought I'd share my crooked tree that my kids got me last year!

Love your blooms Tina and your snow Mel!!!
Nice pictures......thanks for sharing!!
Yes, thank you for sharing those photos everyone. Love to see what everyone loves to grow best.
Great job everyone!
From Triss "Love your blooms Tina and your snow Mel!!!"....emmm me too ...but i'd like to add that i also love da crooked tree in da pure white snow.... aahh daffs... i remember is da first flower that i rushed out to touch when i arrived in England way back in 1985... they r such a cheerful yellow... well (sigh..) i know i can never have 'em in my garden!!
But we shouldnt yearn for what we cannot have... must appreciate what we have, huh.. n here is one of my orchids in bloom... posted a similar pic some time ago..but it was from a friend's garden then...now this one is mine....
OH, Alba, thank you for your comments
Yes, Melcon6 has got that right. That orchid is outstanding!! I love the details of the white and purple in the flower.
ABSOLUTELY GORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGEOUS!!!
Penny and Kenny - I'm with you. At 30 below here in North Dakota during the day - those pictures make me salivate!
Hi Mel, Michael, Triss, Lynne n PattyM...
m very glad u r enjoying da orchid... n Mel, Orchids r not difficult plants actually...just that some r rather shy or slow to flower ...but when they do da blooms last quite a long time..
this particular one may last up to 2 or even 3 months! n it has nothing in itz little plastic container ... no medium whatsoever...but i'll have to feed it by spraying it with fertilizer periodically ...
Alba. You may be wrong about daffodils. They don't need any chilling whatsoever. A lot of other bulbs do but daffs just keep on putting out. You might be able to grow them.
Man, I've been lax in this thread,
and I come here and WHAT BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS from
West coast to acrossed the globe...
Such a gorgeous site for the snow blind here...
*only about 36" of snow the past few days*
Thank~Youuuuuuuuuuuu for all that put flowers here, such a joy to see...

that orchid is BEAUITFUL!
Hi Tina, Weezie, Penny n Sibyl...
Thanx millions... n Tina ohh wow i would certainly love to try daffs.. but ahh had had quite a lot of disappointing experience with da post... may b i should just ...emmm watz da word to use...put it off for a while?
i did come across some similar bulbs being sold in a local Superstore some years back...was imported.. bought it of course..quite expensive tho it was... grew a bit ..then died without reaching maturity...was sad but well if i were to come across more i suppose ...i'll buy again!!
Weezie... may b u r not referring to my orchid when u mention abt being almost able to smell da flowers.... anyway just wanna add that this particular orchid unfortunately has no fragrance... i have a couple of fragrant orchids tho... sadly they r not blooming at da moment!
This is what is blooming in my front flower bed and it smells loverly!
Dianna
Its so pretty Dianna....i love it.....you couldnt see that up here, it would blend in with all our white stuff :p
Man, what a difference a couple of hundred
miles makes, huh?????
*need green (jealous) gremalin here*
I soooooo agree with you there Weezie!!!!!!
I thought about potting it up and bringing it inside until it quits blooming. I love how hyacinths scent the air...
I can't wait to see the others bloom...
Beautiful Dianna!!! I still need to pick some of those up to plant inside.
Guess I oughta' take the rocks off my bulbs soon -maybe in another two weeks, or if we get the Feb melt before the end of the month.
Then I'll have to protect them from the squirrels with some racks.
Dianna, WONDERFUL FLOWER!
I do love their smell! I wish I had some of those. I used to have a purple one, but some how it got lost in my garden and never showed up??
Anyways, Wonderful!! Wonderful!!
i only have a couple of things. My camellia is blooming
And a wimpy hyacinth. We are supposed to dig them up and toss them after they bloom the first year because we don't get enough chilling to bring out a full head of blossoms in the next years. But I can't. I love the individual waxy blooms and they still smell heavenly.
You know I have often wondered if someone
put a load of ice on top of plants requiring cold time and covered it with styrofoam of somesorts *insulating factors*, and then a bag of ice, every day or so, for a month.. like January.... to see what would happen...
Just to see if you'd get a better bloom factor
or the same outcome...
Thanks for the flower's Tina, you know I love looking at your photo's when the snow is 2ft deep here..
Yes you can dig and chill bulbs or chill whole potted plants. But things like peonies need a longer more consistent chill then not as hot in the summer. I have never seen a peony or smelled one. Some day I will try some tree peonies which can grow here.
Emm Tina i envy u your flowers!!! Beeauutiful!!
Aaahh wish i can grow Hyacinths... love da smell... smelled them way back in 1985 in Hyde Park, England.... such a beautiful heavenly fragrance!
While out walking Angel, I glanced in the flowerbed to check on my last bloomer to see how it was doing. Imagine my surprise when I spotted this beauty...
Can't remember what it is, but it sure is pretty!
Dianna
Looks like a very pretty crocus, Dianna!
They are one of the early bloomers here too, but not for a few months.
I won't see those here until April probably.
Soooooo pretty Dianna!!
Crocus! That's what it is! Thanks, Lynne and Mel...
I have planted lots of bulbs in the front flowerbed. I am sure those won't be the only ones that I can't remember!
Dianna
It was 64* this afternoon, so BG & I went out & worked in the yard for a couple hours...
She moved some Daffs & Hiacinths to a better location, while I moved Ginger & Cannas around.
The Hiacinth are budding up fast
(insert), & if it stays warm, I expect to see them blooming in about a week!
(I know it's not the "right" time of year to move these spring plants, but I've done it before without any problem. We decided to free up a garden bed for new annuals that we want to try this year.)
We also got the leaf blower out & found things already flowered up & peeking through the dead leaves & other winter nasties!
Last year I separated an old, woody Bergenia stump & got several plants from it. I didn't think they'd bloom this year, but some of them are!
Purty. Just downright purty, Patty! I'm hopin' that I have some of them there yeller croci out thar, too!
Do all the croci usually have striped leaves? Gotta know what kinds of "weeds" I might be pulling in the flowerbed since I don't have it mulched....
I know. Slap me upside the head.
I should have mulched with "something" to keep the darn weeds out!
Dianna
Very Pretty!! I am jelous you all have flowers and all I have is snow
!!
Keep the pictures comming!!
I am simply amazed Patty, that we can hear
about blizzard after blizzard in Colorado
and you show up bare soil and transplanting..
It is sooo amazing what a difference a few miles' make....
Love your flowers!
Dianna, I didn't mulch ...not on purpose, anyway! We don't have any trees in our yard, but the neighbors have them in theirs. (I should make THEM come over & get their garbage outta my gardens!) Other than the "special" things that I covered with cardboard & throw rugs this year (when I saw the inclimate cold front moving our way), the only "mulch" that anything else gets, happens from whatever dies back & whatever blows in!
I saw your crocus on the last page, & it's AWESOME!
</i> You'll have all kinds of flowers when we're swimming in all the spring rain we'll be getting here... It's OVER KILL every year!!
I love your flowers Patty! Feels like spring is right around the corner. I love the picture of BG , she's so intense! You can tell she's caught the bug from her Grandma!
Dianne, upon closer inspection today, I see that the leaves on my Crocus ARE striped!
The leaves aren't as deep green as yours, so the stripe is hardly detectable.
I noticed a couple things in my Nigella bed the other day & they looked more like a cousins to the Q-tip at the time.... turned out to be Crocus, but I have absolutely NO idea how they got clear over there!
These definitely don't have stripes on the leaves... in fact, there is hardly any foliage to speak of! They're just dainty little top heavy flowers!
Oooooooooh! I'm looking forward to this snow melting off and seeing what comes up.
This Daffodil is my first spring bloom.
This pic was taken last night.
This next one is same flower taken this morning.
Beautiful Jimmy. Waiting for mine to open up here as well!
How pretty Jimmy....looks pretty, reminds me of spring
Nice to have an early spring indicator isn't it Jimmy? I took this today
These are a planter of tete-a-tete daffs in front of a planter of king alfred daffs.
I also have some bergenia blooming
And some double daffs
Lot's of frost damage around, too if you look close.
Daffodils just make me think "Spring" when I see them. Pretty flowers, Jimmy and Tina!
I think I will be looking for some Berginia, too...
Dianna
My bergenia hasn't bloomed in several years..
How do you have your's planted Tina???
They are just tucked onto the hillside, Weezie. Nothing special. But all of them don't bloom every year. Only a few each year. When I divided them I got more blooms from the new divisions though. Maybe they don't like to be crowded. I really don't know.
Weezie, my Bergenia was a big old & ugly looking "stump" sorta thing last year & wasn't very pretty when it bloomed, so I busted it apart & just stuck the pieces down in the dirt last fall. I wasn't real sure if that was how you're supposed to do it, but I got plants out of those & most of them bloomed this year! (They dont look as nice as Tina's, but they'll get bigger with time.)
I potted up a clump of Daffs & brought them inside a couple weeks ago, & the blossoms only lasted for about 3 days.
(I think it was too warm inside for them to stay happy.) So, I dug up another clump & brought them in, but put them back outside once they started to open up.
I have them sitting on the lid of the hot tub, outside the kitchen window, so maybe we'll be able to enjoy them for longer than just a few days!
I had mine in the very back of my "Back~40" and
it was/or seemed happy there..
and then I had some Chinese Lanterns' invade the area and it wasn't doing good anymore there..
So, I had to move it, but where I moved it, it almost died.. so, I put it in a pot, and it seemed to be happy..
But now I really need to find it a spot, but just can't recreat the place it WAS IN, to a new location, and I don't want to loose it again in another unhappy spot...
Ha! We're waiting for the snow and ice to melt and you guys are talking about 'blooms' outside!
Now, I'm jealous!
Just sharing, Carly. Not trying to make anyone jealous. I get a little envious in mid to late summer when all of my blooms are fried and yours are giving you joy.
One more today, a BOP is blooming for me.
That's very pretty Tina! I can't wait to get outdoor blooms going here!
Just my inside hyacinths Mark bought me.
Ohhh both of those are stunning!!! Love the bright colors!
There have been such pretty flowers posted lately I'm almost hesitant to show what I discovered today after moving away leaves and mulch on some of them it's all I've got but it's a start and made me feel Preeeeety good!
I was going to use this Pot for a Brug planter untill I clean the top off of it and discovered strawberry's still growing ( or coming back) from last year Can't really tell by the Picture But there are two little buds of floweretts in there.
Won't be using this pot for a brug now!
Here is my first crocus of the year..
Continued.......
sedum palmeri Blooming.....
Close up...
And Lavender has bloomed!!!
Spring really is coming. Thanks for sharing.

Oooh Diane...
remember my request pleease... emm your Lavender leaves r so different from da one in da link u PMed me...have u been able to find it itz name..?
along da same lines i checked again Yarrow ...n found that their leaves r different... more finely cut..? Think my mystery plant may b Lavendula dentata s u said...
Lovin' these pics!!
Tina, AWESOME BOP's! (Do those make seeds?)
Diane, Why dont you take those strawberries out of that huge pot & put your Brug in there? Strawberries don't have deep roots, so you can move them easily without them even knowing it, & the Brug would probably love that planter!
Tina, that BOP is simply stunning! Is it particular about its' care? Would it survive in SC's humid environment?
Laura, I love that purple hyacinth. I could smell it from here!
Diane, that purple-striped crocus is beautiful. I didn't know that croci came in all different colors until all of y'all started posting about yours. I will be looking for more now...
Dianna
Patty: I probably will do that I need a large pot for a brug!!
Alba : this is a different lavender I think this one is Spanish lavender I believe I have French AND spanish
Diannna : Thanks I like the purple striped too!
Came home today and found these tulips I know I know they aren't open yet But I thought they reminded me of rose buds at this stage!! We are supposed to have hard freezes coming for the next few day Will it kill these>>
I believe these are apricot color..
\
And Hyacinth Sorry for the blurry picture
Might!!
Well, let me rephrase that..
The buds' may get whacked, but the green part should be okay!
And let go as usual for going brown
and then they should come up again next year.....
Can you just throw over one of those clear sterlite containers' over night?
And leave on during the day if need be?
BOP, Bird of paradise. There is good info on it on this site. I don't know how to do that click on thing to send you to the page. It can be grown in pots for indoor, then outdoors in cold climates. They are on plant that survived our freeze this year.
Weezie
well I got a full bloom out of these BUt many more are budding!!! ANd Yes I have boxes and plastic jugs to put over these tonight and tomarrow Night I have a lot of bulbs coming up all over the front and back yard soooo I have a lot of covering to do tonight!
