To add to Mrs. Bradley's Oregon Coast pics, here's a sample of some awesome fossils that we found near the Coquille River Lighthouse at Bandon, Oregon. The best time to beachcomb for fossils & some of the other things that wash up is after big storms (like the Pineapple Express that hit Western Washington & Oregon last November, when flood waters wash into the ocean), & after extremely high or low tides.

It's my understanding that these are relatively "new" fossils ... cuz they haven't been under pressure "for very long".
(Although I'm not sure exactly how that works!)
