I am back from Norman and noticed some smoke rising a few miles north of Okema. I did notice a lot more burned grass since last trip.

We are getting very light rain this morning. Has been sprinkling for about an hour ground is still dry as is the leaves and grass below the surface but it is rain. Oklahoma fires seem to be out pacing our fires here. Hope we all get much needed substancial rain very soon.

More wild fires everywhere high winds and running out of water town Crescent is right in the path water is 45 to 100 miles away. Looks like Texas and Oklahoma will soon be a charred mass. Town of Graford west of Fort Worth does not even have drinking water . Depending on Forest service aircraft to be able to bring water in most lakes are virtualy dry.

There's a huge fire burning at Tatum, south central OK, at this moment. Another critical fire danger day tomorrow. Our small pond is now a puddle about 18 inches across, and an inch and 1/2 deep...our big pond is only a foot or 2 deep. We stocked both ponds 2 years ago...

Dave saw that about Tatum. I try my best to keep up with things on Oklahoma still have friends and relatives there. I pull up your RV stations on my computer and watch the clips. Our old house on SE 25th in the city was hit by tornadoes a few years ago was by it right after that. My mother was born there plus we lived in OKC and for a short time in Reno/Mustang.

Only a day or two Triss no where near long enough to make up for almost 6 months of no rain.

we need 2 kinds of rain, a long slow soaking rain, and a good ol' gully washer.

A soaking rain to get the ground nice and wet again, and a gully washer to fill up the ponds and lakes.

90 percent chance tonight for rain and 90 percent tomorrow...They are calling for several inches to fall, so I guess Mark won't be working tomorrow since he's a roofer....it said there may be some localized very heavy rain and flooding..... :p

Dave , Pat did you get any of this rain we got yesterday? I hope you did but map on news last night showed it to miss Oklahoma almost altogether. Hope you got at least the 2 inch we got. Clear here again today.

Jimmy, they got rain 50 miles south of us, but not so much as a drop here. Heard on national radio news that OK and Texas got a good, heavy rain and the fire danger is now over!
Tell that to our local firemen, lol. nutz

We got a half inch of rain overnight. We're in pretty good shape here, that makes a little over 4 inches for the month so far.

I know the map didn't even show a cloud in your area. And our NBC news said you still had fire alerts out in your area. Was hoping you got at least as much as we did guess was too much to hope for.

Yahoo! We got 1/2 inch here. That won't do much for the ponds, of course, but the dormant trees and everything else will benefit so much. Fire danger will be back as soon as the wind gets bad again.
It sure is a beautiful day here, at any rate! 60 some degrees, sunny. Perfect! wavey

I had some outside stuff to do today but I will do it in the morning.
