flw I'm going to Maryland in 2 weeks for spring Vacation. There are those lovely Jappenese trees up there with the pink blossoms but I can't seem to remember the name of them? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'd really like to know before I head off for D.C. Thanks... Mar Mar wink

Washington DC Cherry Blossom Festival is a pretty big deal on the news here. They have all kinds of info on that official site. But what you really wanted to know, is that they are Kwanzan & Yoshino cherry trees, that were gifts from the Japanese, that started as far back as 1912.

ETA- Varieties of trees for DC\'s Tidal Basin.

The festival runs from March 26th to April 10th, and the 2005 Peak Bloom Forecast: April 4-9
