I'm going to Maryland in 2 weeks for Spring Vacation. There are those lovely Jappenese trees up there with the pink blossoms but I can't seem to remember the name of them? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'd really like to know before I head off for D.C. Thanks... Mar Mar

Flowering Cherries or Flowering Plums?

Washington DC Cherry Blossom Festival is a pretty big deal on the news here. They have all kinds of info on that official site. But what you really wanted to know, is that they are Kwanzan & Yoshino cherry trees, that were gifts from the Japanese, that started as far back as 1912.

The festival runs from March 26th to April 10th, and the 2005 Peak Bloom Forecast: April 4-9
