Cricket sugar gliders make great pets. They need a lot of attention have bonding pouches you put them in. I take mine to Pets Mart etc in the pouch. As you can see I have too they were both discards I took in. Just like my birds and Iguana's were discards what I call throw aways. People get them then don't want them. Yes I'm a sucker for most animals. MY dogs were also abandoned my wife took in and found homes for all of Gods creatures.

JV, I wish I lived closer to you so you could send your overflow of critters my way if you didn't have room for anymore! grinnnn

Check this out, G-Mom...
...from a study of how much rodent poop was found in randomly tested stuff from the supermarket.
Quote
Rodent feces are known carriers of pathogens that cause human illnesses ranging from severe to deadly. Our discovery that the food chain in this country carries this degree of contamination is frightening.
You probably don't want to even hear what the amounts were. shk

Here's a list of key words I found...
food safety; food sanitation; disease prevention; rodents; food products; food analysis; food contamination; excreta; mice; human health; feces

I've been googling a lot of this stuff myself and I must say--it's totally disgusting.....makes me not want to eat anything at all---but I luv food too much.

And as far as fear factor goes I think they are all nutz for doing that stuff for a mere 50,000.......some of that stuff is soooooooo disgusting that I can barely watch them do it... frown Especially those madagascar hissing cockroaches, or those cave dwelling spiders, and laying in that box covered in rats.....ewwww.

Loz, the stuff that they eat on Fear Factor are actually things that people in places around the world eat. They have a staff specifically for going around the world and finding cultures who eat things that our culture wouldn't think of. Just on Oprah this week, she did her tour around the world and there was a place...might have been Norway...can't remember...maybe Greenland...they eat sheep testicles...and I've seen that on Fear Factor.

omg, like totally EW!!! I remember this happening to us a few times:

My dad was teaching me how to cook speghetty, and we put the noodles in the boiling water. After about 2 minutes we noticed small red things floating to the top of the water. Then we noticed the small red things had eyes o.O They were bugz!!!

But that's okay ^.^ its just protine

...

...with legs :p

But ya, that happened twice, and we stopped buying speghetty from that store lol.

I don't think I could eat a bug for any amount of money! That Jerusalem cricket really looks nasty.

Fear Factor is not a good thing to watch while you are eating supper. Makes me sick to my stomach just watching them eat what shouldn't be eaten. laugh shocked

The cure might be worse than the problem...I just went searching for plants that repel spiders and discovered that lavender and garlic work quite well...don't know how they'd taste together though :p I wonder if the scent of lavender would cancel out the "scent" of garlic grinnnn
