COCKTAIL RECIPES???
Comes the HOLIDAYS time of the year.
Anyone with a favorite drink and recipes...????
REMEMBER TO DRINK AND DRIVE RESPONSIBLY!!!!!!!
Weezie
Bailey's Irish Creme has always been
my TOP FAVORITE!!!!
I like it with ice (on the rocks....)
Sometimes a splash of milk or cream.
Also with DeKuyper Butter Shots Butterscotch Schnapps. ... equal parts....
Very nice change to it,
again, you put in amounts of your choice and test.
Weezie
I'll have a rum and coke; two limes, please.
1 "Cuba Libra" double lime, comin' up!!!!
Ahhhh, great job, Weez, perfect! Can I have a tall, next time?
Hey JC Hollywood!!!
Is this what would be considered a eggnog type??
I don't drink eggnog, but was just curious??????
My girlfriends all like it, we have a little get
together every year and my one girlfriend makes it up and they go bonkers for it.....
Weezie
Hey Weezie,
Ask and ye shall receive! Here is a link to the history of the Tom and Jerry.
Tom and Jerry History The recipe on this web site doesn't have powdered sugar, I don't think there was any in 1862!
Enjoy!

hey weezie ya might like a "duck fart"then
Hey njoynit,
I found this recipe on the Web, they use Royal Crown in place of your Canadian Club.
Drink Recipe: Duck Fart
Ingredients:
1/2 oz Kahlúa
1/2 oz Bailey's Irish Cream
1/2 oz Royal Crown (Canadian Club)
Mixing instructions:
layer ingredients in order into shot glass
Bet this looks great with the Kahlua at the bottom layered up to the Royal Crown on top.
jc2weho
Hey JC...Trader Joes and Beverages and More both have a Tom and Jerry mix now. Just add rum, brandy, heat and away you go. My friend bought some and it was tasty goodness. I'll have to get some for the upcoming holidays!
Njoynit and JC,
When doing your layering if one doesn't have
a steady hand or feel too confident with layering,
(you have to shoot the liquor in and on to the side of the shot glass as to not allow it to mix together as you're pouring...)
But if it's easier take the back of a spoon
and tip the spoon into the shot glass at say a
45 degree angle and gently pour on to the back
of the spoon and just to the side of the shot glass, so you achieve the layered look....
If worse comes to worse and you don't get it
the layered looked, they still take great
no matter what they look like!!
Weezie
And by the way,
when I originally learned that drink,
Some many millenniums ago,
it had Grand Marnier` on top.....
And they lit it!!!
And it was called a B52!!!!
Weezie
Gardengal and Weezie,
Gardengal, thanks for the heads up about Trader Joe's, I will pick some up. I love Tom and Jerry's but hate the time it takes to make them. Plus that darn batter separates by the next day.
Weezie, great spoon tip for layering! B52, I have had them, no wonder that recipe looked so familiar.

I don't remember the name of the drink but I have had one of those layered drinks but wasn't sure while I was drinking it whether or not to stir it or drink it layer by layer. What is the RIGHT way to drink a layer drink. If there is a right and wrong?
One great big GULP!!!!!!!!!
Weezie
Brrruuuup!
They gave me a straw sillies!!! Now what?
How long has it been since you used a pea-shooter?
Use the straw to shoot beernuts at the bartender and swig that cocktail!
J/K... got ME stumped. Does anyone know?
Weezie is right...if it's in a 'shot' glass...one BIG gulp!!
I wouldn't try it with a bigger layered drink, like a coffee nudge...then you stir and drink...
(Gee, Dad...I must have read this somewhere, for surely I don't know!
)
You are just too cute, Barleyclown!
What is a coffee nudge? Tell Dad you read about it in the New Yorker magazine.
By the way, you really are a cutie, I love your wedding pictures.
jc2weho
Thank you!
Ever had coconut rum and coke?
Good morning!
I'll bite, ('cause I'm the Cuba Libre girl)...
What is coconut rum????
I've heard of Cocoribe......
It's the coconut flavored rum one would
put in a pina colada........
Weezie
Is it the Cocoribe I mentioned? (I've only seen it on the shelf at the store...didn't know what it was)
I've had Pina Coladas made with cocoanut syrup & reg rum......
Ok I got a question.
I am not a big drinker but daughter had a white russian and I took a sip and thought I was going to fall out of the chair.
Question is WHAT IS IN THAT STUFF?
WHITE RUSSIAN
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Light Cream
- 1 oz Kahlua
Glassware: Old-Fashioned Glass
Shake all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into an old-fashioned glass over ice cubes.
JC,
Are you a mixologist???
Peppermint,
Those things are pretty much ALL liquor,
depending how much milk/cream was put in..
If it was tasty to you, but would like it
to be less strong or weaker in liquor taste,
we used to have girls put them in tall shaker
glasses and add alot of milk, so it wasn't so much liquor tasting, still same amount of liq.
just more milk, more filling...
A Black Russian is no milk............
Weezie
Nah, Weezie! I am not a mixologist, my occupation makes me do a whole lot of online reseach. I have a great search program called Copernic Agent. I type in what I am looking for and it does a very defined search. Not like those gazillion things that come up if you use Internet Explorer. If you are interested they have a freeware version:
Copernic Agent jc2weho
I will definately show that one
to my husband and computer man!!!
Thanks!!
Weezie
Here, you had me going, I thought you
were a true professional there.
I'm way outta touch with that,
I was testing my memory of drinks and it
was wayyyyyyyyyyy shy of the repertoire
of what I used to know....
I should go back to studying that stuff again..
Not that I want to go back to that "den of wheneckwahties"(sp)??? (HOW do you spell that word anyways???)
But it's fun to remember if I just could!
How about Ramaki, my Hot Fav.
Ingredients:
Raw chicken livers
Waterchestnuts - cut in half
Bacon - cut in half across
Toothpicks
To Make:
Wrap chicken liver and waterchestnut in bacon, hold together with toothpick
Put on a pan and broil until bacon is crisp
If you absolutely hate chickien livers try:
Pineapple
Prunes (Yes, they taste great!)
Any canned fruit will also do
Some put a dash of Worcestershire Sauce on them before broiling
jc2weho
Opps! This should have gone in another section!
Barkeep, I'll have a tall rumaki with a float of grenadine, please........ :p
Hollywood,
Is she picking on you???
I'll see if I can get that into the hor`derves
catagory????
Weezie
Weezie,
You bet she is and all the time!!!!
Better leave it here or Jillie's post will make no sense.
My husband's favorite!
Brain hemorrage:
1 oz peach schnapps
1 tsp. Bailey's irish cream
1/2 tsp. grenadine
Pour the peach schnapps and then slowly pour the Irish creme without mixing. The creme will clump together and settle at the bottom of the schnapps. Pour the grenadine over the creme to complete the drink.
Hey Barley,
Don't forget to explain that drink
and it's name to those who may
not know "why" it's called that name....
Weezie
That Brain Hemorrage made me remember one of my Favs, a Cum Shot.
Yukon Jack
Baileys
Put Yukon Jack into a shot glass, gently pour in the Baileys until it looks like "you know what" in the bottom of the glass
In place of the Yukon you can use Butterscotch Schnapps
Oh my good gravy,
can't believe you said that!!!
I need the jaw dropper graemlin for that one!!!
That's too funny!!!
That's the same concept of the one Barley
posted, when you pour in the Bailey's it
swirls around looking like a brain in a test tube beaker or something, and the dash of grenadine
makes it look bloody!!!!
I know, some of the names they come up with
now adays!!!
I sent a list of dirty mix drinks to the girls.
Do you have them all???
Weezie
Send 'em over Weez! We don't have 'em..
Oh, and Hollywood...if you stop by Starbuck's...
I'll have a Venti Mocha Malt Rumaki Frappaccino with a double espresso shot.....
Wow, I remember having a "brain hemorage" a long time ago at d.c. space, a music club I used to hang out at. It was so gross, the way the whole "brain" came crashing into my mouth- like an OYSTER!!!!!!! But after I drank it, hey, what do you know? I didn't seem to be too traumatized.
They used to make the best Irish Coffees at d.c. space. They were made with Jameson's Irish whiskey, Kahlua, coffee and cream. Mmmmm!
Does anyone know how to make a Wassail bowl? I had a great one at a Colonial restaurant in Leesburg, once. It seemed to be made of hot cider, rum, oranges, cinnamon and cloves. It was a very popular restaurant, and we had to wait out in a line for some time before we were seated, but once inside the front door, the hostess handed the grownups a cup of Wassail from a huge kettle hanging over a fire in the fireplace, and it took the chill off real fast, I'll tell you.
All these drinks look yummy, especaily the "Brain Hemmorage", one of my favorite hot drinks is a "Blueberry Tea"
1 cup hot tea
Grand Marnier
Ameretto
I like a cherry in mine, some people like to make it with Earl Grey tea but I prefer just plain tea
Hi Bess,
Being the little web researcher that I am, here are several links to Wassail Bowl recipes. If you want more, just email me and I can send you more links!
Wassail Bowl No. 1 Wassail Bowl No. 2 Wassail Bowl No. 3 Wassail Bowl No. 4 Each has a little different ingredients. Enjoy!
Oh Jillie!
We are having Ramaki Shooters before dinner tonight!
My grandma always made a big bowl of wassail when I was a kid. I don't think it had any rum in it since she let us kids drink it up. It was such a tasty treat with dessert, and she made the best cookies and pies. I miss her so much, especially this time of year. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
On a different note, Full Sail Brewing Co. has a seasonal beer called WassAle that is also tasty. They also have one called Wreck the Halls. Both are good. Hubby and I really enjoyed them when we were in Portland last month.
Jillie or JC, I'll take a tall gingerbread latte if you're going to Starbucks before you have your Ramaki Shooters!
That wassil stuff actually sounds pretty
gosh darn tasty there!!
I will save those for a party!!
Yum!!
Thanks!
Weezie
Jillie,
I IM'D you with the list!
Anyone else want the list,
I'll send it to you!!
Weezie
Hey Jillie,
Don't try to make them all in one day!!!
BIG GRIN
Weezie
Heck, no, Weez...& I gotta look around & be careful of who's listeneing if I ever order one... Unseemly for a little old grandma order a big ole *@~!%*@ from the barkeep.
OH, I could imagine some fun with that Jillie!!!!
What a hoot that would be to order one of those
to the young pups behind the bar!!
Especially the kind of showoffs/know it alls!!!
I'd love to be a mouse in your pocket on those days!!!!
Don't get yourself into tooooooooooo much trouble!
What fun!!!
Oh, what fun if you took a BUNCH of your girlfriends into a place and EACH of you ordered one of each on the list!!!
Hehehehehehe!!
Weezie
Yeah....and make sure it's in a dirty glass....with a hair in it..... :p
Wait Jillie!
You just let out the secret to our enormously popular Ramaki Cocktails!
Oooh.. Oooh...
We just got back tonite from shopping and having Japanese...
BIG jug of hot sake toppped off the day...
Jillie,
Just curious, what is a next day allergic reaction?
Good Morning, Daisy
I'd look like a blowfish!
The percentage of tannin (spelling?)in wine is directly related to the degree my eyes and face swell and how diminished my lung capacity gets after one glass. :p
....it's the stuff in fermented grape skin....
jillie, that is why you don't react to sake, it isn't made from grapes!!
You've got it, Jiffy!
Oh yeah! Sake's made from rice, isn't it? And I ONLY like it warm! I had a friend who warmed it in her microwave. yum!
Hey Hollywood!!!!!!
Thanks for the excellent Wassail Bowl recipes. That last one looks like the BEST!
(Three cheers!)
We just got a gift of Blue Agave Tequila the other day. It seems too cold for margaritas, but I remember having a nice hot coffee drink called Aztec coffee, which contained tequila. Anyone know that one?
Woohoo! Found it under "Mexican coffee"
Mexican Coffee
3/4 oz. each: Kahlua & Tequila, Coffee, Whipped Cream
Pour coffee over liqueurs & Top with Whipped cream, Garnish with a Cherry
You guys have good taste, bailey's is probably my favorite alcoholic drink. Yum! And I started with Amaretto, also quite good.
A good drink for getting smashed quickly is the Kamikazi
1/3 each of:
Lime juice
Triple Sec
Vodka
You can make all sorts of flavored Kamikazis by swapping out the lime juice with something else. For example, grenadine makes for a nice cherry Kamikazi. The grenadine makes it a bit too sweet though so it's best served super cold and drank immediately.
