Hey ShirlS,
Don't those Rose-Breasted Cockatoos just tug at your heart? When I had my Cockatiel, Driscol" I used to go to "The Bird Store" here in town to get his food and supplies. They had all kinds of birds there, so I would buy Driscol's food in small amounts, then I had an axcuse to go there more often. Sometimes it took me a couple of hours just to buy food.
Once when I was there they had four Rose-Breasted Cockatoo babies for sale and I fell in love with one of them, so I started stopping by there more often.
I got to thinking it might be nice to have another bird in the house and they really aren't that big, so they probably don't cost too much. Now, I was seriously considering it, so the next time I was in there and talking to the bird, I causally asked, "How much is this bird?" Oh my gosh, it was $2,500! I about died when I heard that and I couldn't believe it. I figured the huge parrots they had there were probably pretty expensive; BUT, this was SUCH a tiny bird!
The one I liked was the first one someone bought and it didn't take them long to sell the other three. We must have some rich people here in town, but I'm not one of them or I would have had a new bird.
Have a GREAT day!
