Ok I hope I am not misusing this privilage but I need this plant identified so I can find out if it is poisonous to my goats or not. I have looked all over the internet but can't seem to find it.

If it is ok I am posting a link to my photobucket picture of it.

If you can at least tell me what family you think it is in that would be REALLY helpful. I think my goat ate it and I need to know if she will be sick my it.

Please help me!

Stacey, welcome to the forum and I hope you aren't worrying yourself unneccessarily.

Both of your pix appear to be Pokeweed, Phytolaccaceae Americana. You can read this information and then do an additional search if you don't get the answers you need...

You might call your Vet and they can tell you if Pokeweed is harmful to your goats. This website may also help you...

Forgot to thank you for the link to the site for the poisonous plant list. Yes pokeweed is poisonous to all animals but the toxidity is low the site says.........so I think Mia (and my 3 other goats) is safe. :-)

I love goats...period!!! They have so much personality, it's unbelievable. That's a really cute picture...I hope you'll post more. If I lived outside the city limits, I would definitely have two or three pygmies.

I'm glad you were able to use those links. wink
