Besides watering what else does a Jade plant need? I have heard that they should be pruned once a year--true?? Is it okay to give jade plants fertilizer, or plant food? Please inform me of anything esle that jade plants need! thanks

Andy

Andy,

What jades need more than anything is lots of bright light; the more the better. Allow the soil to dry out about halfway down before watering thoroughly or wait until the leaves start to shrivel just a bit.

Keep your jade very potbound.

Pruning is optional; regular pruning will help keep your plant full and compact, if that is the way you like it to look.

Fertilize sparingly at half strength monthly, but only when you plant is healthy and growing vigorously.
