Oh my! I just saw the new Echinacea 'Coconut Lime' on the White flower Farm website. I have to have one! Very unique...sort of like Razzmatazz but white with a greenish tint and an orange center instead of all pink. Rather expensive, but I really want it. I have almost every echinacea cultivar...also ordered 'Green Envy' from another site. Looks like another year where I'm gonna be broke from buying plants...

I'm with you, they are so pretty. I'm lucky though, I've become friends with a husband/wife team who owns a local nursery and they have been getting the new Echinaceas, raising them from seed and then they sell them for $5.95 each. They are so beautiful and bloom so long (and the butterflys just love them too!). Guess I need to start saving seeds and offer them on the seed exchange this year.

I saw it listed in several catalogs, but I didn't get it...mainly because it looks too much like a regular coneflower except it's a lighter shade. I really like the more unique looking ones and the ones that have colors not usual to a coneflower. Of course, if someone gave me one I wouldn't turn it down!

I seen the fragrant 'Angel' I also wished had bought it then.I thought it was nice, but the petals looked stubby to me.I almost ordered both online last year.

I like the yellow that has the long skinny petals.I seen some growing in smokey mt's some time ago now. we're taller type too about 3 ft.

Echinaceas became one of my favorite flowers several years ago because I've always liked any daisy-type flower. Duh

Is it named Coconut Lime for it's color or it's fragrance?

You're welcome, Shirley! wink You know, I've got several varieties of Echinacea that they claim are very fragrant, but I don't seem to notice them being that fragrant! frown Of course, maybe I'm just expecting a stronger smell like honeysuckle, lilac, carnation, gardenia or lavender (these are some of my favorite flower smells luv luv luv ). I don't care for the smell of roses. frown
