I planted a very pretty plant last year but have lost the tag. I was attracted by the tri-colored foliage but it also bears a small white flower with yellow centre. The leaves are lime green and dark green with red around the edges. I remember doing a search on the internet last year and all I remember is that is can be very invasive if conditions are right (lots of water) and if not, it will not spread as much. Mine has not spread a great deal and I love the looks of it. Sorry I don't have a digital camera to send a picture but the colored leaves are so unusual I thought perhaps someone would know immediately what it is.

Hi Girliemac,

Could it be Houttuynia - Chameleon plant?

You are amazing - that's it exactly. It doesn't show the small white flowers but it's definitely the foliage. Thank you so much. I'm delighted to find out what it is.

You are so welcome. I will warn you, once you have it, you will probably always have it. Break off a piece of root and another will grow!

Good luck with it,
Newt
