Renee sent me the seeds for this beautiful plummey plant but neither one of us knows what it is. Along with the seeds Renee sent me the dried plumms and let me tell you..they dry beautifully!!! I can't wait to grow them myself next spring and use them in arrangements!! Thanks Renee for sending them to me. Any help with an ID would be greatly appreciated!

What you have is a type of Celosia...not sure which particular one, though.

I looked it up and came up with this site: Celosia argentea var. cristata (Plumosa)

The one at the top is most like my mystery plant.. what do you think?

I'm still stumped!!
Unless, the original pictured plants were
grown in too much shade to make them leggie???

I would say the second picture is too squatty
and the plume is too big?????????????????????

The discription for color on the second one, doesn't say pastel pink????????????????????????

Not sure?????????????

Looking at the original picture, I would tend to say that they are leggie. I'll ask Renee where the plants were grown and what type of light they recieved... maybe that will give us a better idea.

Hi everyone!!!! Sorry for the mystery, I just thought they were really pretty and the flowers last forever! I'm thinking of making a wreath for my spare room out the plumes. Anyhow....they were grown in full sun, no shade ever hit them until around 7:30pm or so. Some plants were 12inches and all sizes up to 3-4ft. That last picture looks just like mine, good job on the investigation!! Maybe we could get a little sherlock holmes smiley! I know, I keep making other people do more stuff, like there's any time for that! Well, back to work I go! Take care everyone. smile
