Hi all,
A couple of days ago, my grandchildren ate some berries, which we have been unable to find out what they are. The children had to take syrup of ipacac via the poison control center.
The berries are around 3/4 to an inch wide, blackish/darkblue in color, pink fleshy color inside with alot of seeds. They were growing on a bush that looks like a high bush blueberry. Any ideas on what they could be. They are not anything anyone has seen before. Is it a possiblity that they could be a flower???
Thanks
Kath

Hmmmm, a pic would be very helpful, short of that a more specific description of the plant: leaf arrangment, size, color, etc. Sorry I could not be of more assistance. Good luck.

I've never seen berries that big.

I do know that I cannot eat blueberries right off the bush - they disagree with me somethin' awful. Any time I've done it, I've ended up in a lot of pain.

I can handle them cooked - in a pie, etc. No problem there.

I'll have another slice, please . . . thank you.

:-)
