the purple flowered plant is some type of geranium - it's hardy in zone 6b and it spreads by sending out roots. has kind of droopy leaf stalks and it basically blooms all summer then dies down completely for the winter.

the light green stuff on the right side of the pic puts up flowers late in the season that are purple.

thank you, netty!!

wrennie, it's odd. the sedum in the pic is in partial shade and it's doing extremely well. i put some more in the backyard and it gets more sun and isn't doing as well.

what's odd is it's supposed to be a full-sun plant! the soil conditions must be better out front!

oh, and mine blooms late summer/early fall.
