It seems as though I'm attracted to plants & flowers that don't come with ID tags!

I know that the orange one is a Calceolaria (AKA the slipper, pouch or pocketbook plant), but what is the crepe paper looking one?

I've been calling it an Aphid flower, cuz they seem to like this better than they do my roses! mad (Last night they were yellow, but this morning the blossoms looked GREEN with their little friends covering them!)

Patty, the yellow one made me think it might be a type of Abutilon but I'm just not real sure. Is the foliage similar to a Maple?

Whatever it is, it sure is pretty and I want one!

Here are the leaves...
[Linked Image]

I think they look sort of like Maple leaves. Duh (The blossoms are all wilty looking now, because I brought the plant in & sprayed all the aphid with my kitchen sink sprayer & sent them all down the drain! There are several new buds coming on though, so if these don't spring back, there'll be more to take their place.) [Linked Image]

The blossom petals look a lot like Iceland Poppies, but I KNOW this isn't a Poppy!)

Another possibility is Figleaf Hollyhock, Alcea Ficifolia. Check out the flowers\foliage on this website...

Triss, it has that thingy sticking out in the middle of the blossom like a Hibiscus, but the leaves aren't right.

Rosie, I didn't get very far on your link, because I don't read Greek or German, or whatever language that site has! Duh
How the heck do you pronounce THAT?... I see more research ahead!
(It\'s a tough one!)
nutz

Anyway, I'm still not sure, though... & still looking for confirmation. (I can't possibly be the only person around here who has this plant!)
