I was walking around a prairie today and saw a pretty wildflower and can't figure out what it is!
It is native to North America, that I do know.
It has half-dollar sized blooms, is bright yellow with a black center, kinda looks like a black-eyed susan, but brighter and smaller. I did take a clipping of it, but can't find my camera... of course! I was also wondering if I can harvest seeds from it to put into my garden...
Can anyone help?!

do you see any dried up cone nearby? ARe there black seeds that fall out when you shake the cone? I think I have what you're talking about growing but have no clue what it's name was (I threw a bunch of tehse in my wildflower mix ^_^) I have a feeling they are probably something like yellow coneflower or wild sunflower or just somethin in the coneflower/sunflower family!
