i've no idea what they are...obviously they are either perennials or they selfseeded.

The first one looks like a little rhubarb plant with maybe a pansy on the left, the second one looks like a weed, the third looks like some kind of artemisia Duh

Thanks Melcon,
the rhubarb I did know, guess I didnt make it clear which plant I meant, sorry. You think pansy? I raked off most of the leaves there and it was growing under the leaves in way early spring, will pansys stay green under mulch in winter? Duh
I think the third looks artemesia-ish too but I dont know, yet...

The pansies are cool weather loving plants and could green up very early under leaves, notice the yellowish frost damage on the one closest to the rhubarb.

They are all weeds...
*not 100% sure of the last one, need a better look at it*

And if someone reminds me to come back here,
*I'm swamped at this minute* I will tell you what they are...

Does the last one have any kind of scent when you squeeze it? Could be yarrow, Russian sage, or wild carrot?

The last one could be "rabbit's foot" too..
I'd like a better picture..
*of the dead stalk on it too, is there anything hanging off of it, like a seed pod??*

Heres the one in the strawberry jar again. No seed pods. The dry looking stems are from the thyme plant in the same pot.

It reminds me a plant that I have here,
*weed*
and it gets like a delicate little pink flower..

but it could be asters..*there's ton's of different varieties of them,
and colors and sizes*

Keep takin' pictures...

I think the flowers will be the tell~tale~sign,
of what it is...
Keep us posted...

P/S Did you get any more pictures of the one
I thought was the Rabbits' Foot Fern????

Hey Wrennie, the first one (that you have updated) looks exactly like a sweet william.
We planted some from seed a couple of years ago and they bloomed this year. takes them a while, but they get tall and bloom vibrant clusters of flowers that smell just like carnations.
