plant 3...I'm pretty sure is a weed....it grows REALLY tall here and never gets flowers. Right now, the Jap beetles are eating the ones on my hillside to a pulp.

plant 1...i think is also a weed. I have it all over the place and it doesn't do anything...just grows and gets little bugs that eat the insides out of the leaves. I pull it up.

#3 looks like the weed that has taken over all free space in my garden. I was unsure last year and let it grow all summer long and by the end of the summer it did produce yellow flowers much like goldenrod. Picture of goldenrod not yet flowering Flowering goldenrod . If it is goldenrod get rid of it while you can. I have a feeling I'll be pulling it up for years to come.

Here's a picture of a hardy patch growing in my yard... does it look the same to you?

Tammy, don't pull #1 !! I'm sure it's Rudbeckia Fulgida and you will have beautiful yellow blooms soon! But be sure to deadhead them unless you want them EVERYWHERE

As far as #1, I don't think it's a weed, but what do I know hey? Netty, I will watch for yellow flowers.

I think you are right with #2 being Mullein, it is now getting little yellow flowers.

I can't remember if #3 flowers or not. I will keep an eye on it also. I guess it does look like Malica's pic.
Thanks
Tammy
