Here are the rest of the mystery plants at the new house:

Is this a specific type of pine tree or is it diseased?

I thought this was an herb growing in the vinca but it has no smell

hey, jo...7 kind of looks like a mint...does it have any scent when you rub the leaves?

#6 looks like some sort of daylilly. The surrounding plant, greyish fuzzy leaves is rose campion.

So far:
1. Mayapple - definitely

2. I posted a better picture

3. I don't think this is burning bush, we moved in last November and I don't recall this bush looking colorful

4. I squeezed and did see a rust color on my fingers.

5.Dianthus - Some google pictures resemble the foliage but others don't look anything like it. I'll have to see what comes up in a few weeks

6. Daylilly? This just came up in the last 2 weeks. My other daylillies came up quite a while ago. Are there varieties that came up later?

7. I posted a better picture and rubbed 2 leaves together but do not smell mint.

I took another look at the bush (plant 3) and realized there were little yellow flowers blooming now. My husband says he recalls some of the bushes looking pretty last fall so maybe I just missed it in the chaos of moving in. Does burning bush have yellow blooms?

#2 looks like a honeysuckle

#3 is a burning bush, they do have small insignificant flowers, & only turn bright red if they grow in full sun, if in the shade they will not turn red

I don't know what that one is that you see
that is allllll white and I told you to squeeze it, *but I know I have it too, on a couple of scrub trees*
It's like a bug really, like living thing..

But I don't know what it is..

And I find it on the plants/trees that are stressed....

2. Hadn't considered honeysuckle. There are several "bushes" that are blooming already, maybe this one is just late

3. The bush is in partial shade so that explains why I don't remember red leaves last fall. A shame since the google pictures are just beautiful.

4. Being a hemlock tree explains the white goo on it.

Looks like these trees might have to be cut down. I will have to find out who to contact to see what to do with them. I wanted to eventually chop them anyway since they are right next to the house.

6. I LOVE daylillies so I'm really glad to hear I have different varieties and bloom times.

Please keep taking pictures as they grow and flower.. *and even if we haven't finished id'ing them, some pods/seeds for us.. that helps in finalizing an idenification..*

yes, that IS a burning bush...the flowers confirmed it for me (my neighbor has one and it's in bloom too).

#8...where the shoots reddish in color when they first came up? if so, they're gladiola's.

For #8 - I didn't notice this one until it was already this size. I'll make sure to take Weezies advice and keep posting pictures while things start to bloom.

This new property is very intimidating for a newbie gardner!

#5 could be creeping baby's breath

I just looked up creeping baby's breath and it doesn't look quite like that. Now that little shoots are coming up it is looking more like dianthus.

I also compared plant 2 (mystery vine) with the honeysuckle we have growing and it isn't the same shape leaf. I'm hoping the vine will bloom but so far no buds have formed. If it is just a plain vine I will rip it out since it is taking over the whole area pretty quick.
