I have been looking for one of those recipes
for quite some time...
The one's with the catchup and "Red" stuff
are plentiful, but the gravy one is never found.

I'll be watching this post!!!

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In a very large bowl mix together:

2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 lb. country style sausage
Three eggs
One and one-half cup uncooked oatmeal (not the quick cooking kind)
1/3 cup of barbecue sauce (plus addl. barbeque sauce for glaze)
4 tbsp. catsup
1 lb. medium cheddar cheese cut into one half inch cubes
1 small to medium onion coarsely chopped
1 small can sliced mushrooms
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Blend all ingredients thoroughly.

Form into loaf shape in a large roasting pan. (Create a shallow valley down the center to hold addl. bbq sauce)

Paint a liberal glaze of barbecue sauce over the entire loaf.

Bake for one-and-a-half hours at 325 degrees F.

Allow meatloaf to set for 10-15 minutes easier slicing.

Brown gravy meatloaf
INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
2/3 cup chili sauce
1-1/3 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1-1/3 cups fresh sliced mushrooms
2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons minced onion
1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon butter
1-1/3 cups beef broth
2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons water
1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon cornstarch

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chili sauce, egg,one onion, salt, and freshly ground black pepper; mix well. Shape into an 8x4 inch loaf pan.
Place loaf pan on a rack in an oven-roasting pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until done. Cook until internal temperature measures 160 degrees F (70 degrees C); the meat should be well done, with no trace of pink. Remove from oven, and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
While the meatloaf is resting, prepare the gravy. In a medium saucepan, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Add mushrooms and onions; cook and stir until tender. Add beef broth; simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Combine water and cornstarch in a small cup; stir into broth. Cook and stir for 1 minute, or until thickened.

not a bit of gravy anywhere but I sure like this meatloaf.

1 1/2 pounds hamburger
1 cup bread cut into cubes
1 packet lipton garlic onion dry soup mix
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese or cubed cheese
1/2 small onion diced

mix all ingredients in large bowl if you are a clutz like me. press into 8x8 baking pan put in over at 350 degrees F for about an hour. My stove is alittle slow on the lower temperatures so watch it carefully. If you use a high fat content hamburger like I do you may want to remove 3/4 of the fat half way through the cooking.
