Hey Welcome Aboard fellow New Yorker!!
We're glad you found us...
I have
Hollyhocks, and the dried
seed would normally fall to the ground just about now, and
then take root now.. *and then come
spring time,
will send up the main stalk for the
flowers*
(they are a biennial and will send out roots and leaves the first year, then send up
flower stalks the next year)
So, I would do them now..
*You can do both too if you want..
save some and
plant them in the
spring and then you will always have one's coming up..*
Try planting them several ways too, to see which is easiest for you...
I take the stalks and just shake on top of some freshly raked dirt *no grass or anything on top of the soil*...
and then I also
plant some on top of some regular garden soil in some 6 pk containers...
and then leave them on the ground, and the snow
will cover them up...
See which way is easiest for you and the
seeds...
