It is an herb. It gets fairly large. You can cook & eat the leaves like spinach. I like its blue flowers. I've never heard of it being invasive. Its an annual. I've never had it reseed itself.

Mine reseed PROLIFICALLY, but nothing I can't pull out of the beds when they emerge... So, I do not mind them one bit when they're sprouting all over the place, I give them away to friends, neighbors, and give'em to the boys to sell on the sidewalks..... I loveeeeeee the bright blue flowers.. and they do attrack beneficial bees... They can be ratherrrrrrrrr tall though......

Wow Weezie!! I've never seen Borage that tall!! Mine reseed nicely, but I find that they are quite late to emerge. I've learned not to disturb the soil around them until I see how many are growing. My daughter likes to make ice cubes with the flowers in them.

She uses the ice cubes in her drinks. The flowers are edible and look really pretty.

I haven't grown borage yet, but would like to. I like to freeze peppermint leaves in ice cubes. So nice in lemonade.

Hi, I'd like to know which herbs do really well with hot dry weather in the summer and cold in the winter. I'm mostly looking for perenniels but some annuals would be nice. Donna

Only the flowers are edible.... Nothing else on the plant, *ie: stems or leaves, like regular sages* are edible... *****Alwayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyys be sure of what you are eating is edible before digesting...****

We'd been talking about putting flowers in the ice cubes, and you posted about Russian Sage, then Any Sage.. and mostly sages are leaves used, so I wanted to make sure that NO one ate the leaves on the Russian Sage, although it's called a Sage, it's not an edible sage like most people think... *only the flowers are edible on that kind* I do know that the borage is edible..leaves and flowers... Thanks Dodge!!!

Some of the sages really bush out and do well year after year, but with the weird weather we've been having who could say this year. The mints also have a sick way of taking over your yard- be careful, if you want to keep them to one space Donna, sink the pot... it'll contain it for a year or two. Or simply line the area underground that you want it contained to. However, it is a rather fragrant smell when you mow!
