I have a Arch in the garden. One side I have a Clematis, the other side a Russian vine.
What I wanted to know is. I want to take the arch down, but how do I save my plants. Do I just prune them to the bottom. and then transfer somewhere else?
Also do I wait until its dead wood to do this?

Not sure about your "Russian Vine", (do you know the scientific name?) but I've transplanted clematis before. I just cut them way back before digging. They sulked for a few years, but eventually they returned to normal.

I would opt for a second clematis if your going to move the arch. the reason i think this, is because of the russian vine! if its the plant i think it is, once established it will grow a foot each week. its the most evasive climber i have seen,
my neighbour grew it and i spent more time hacking it back than i care to remember!
its a great plant if you dont get on with the neighbours!!!

Hmmmm....I think I may have found what to plant on the driveway side of my house.....

I was going to say about the Clematis's..
Is to if you move that plant... make sure you dig deep..
They've got a long tap root, and do not like that
thing snappped off....
