OP SpringFever_dup1 Member Joined: Mar 2006 Lawrence,Ma	I have stayed away from hosta because every time i see them there are ants on them... Does anyone have a problem with ants?... I have a lot of shade perfect for them but not wanting extra critters..

johnCT Member J Joined: Aug 2005 Connecticut	Oh that's no reason to stay away from this beautiful plant. No better plant for a shade garden. You should be more worried about slugs than ants. Ants won't do any damage to them. There are literally thousands of hosta varieties. I am always coming home with another variety I don't have. I'm up to about 20 with more than a fifty on my wish list.

Anonymous Unregistered A	well, you can't get away from ants!!! they're all over the place :p hostas are lovely plants...don't short-shrift yourself because of a few tiny ants!!
