A Gardeners Forum Forums Gardening Reference Gardening in 2006 Clearance shopping~Help me plan now.

O.k. First of all I'm dealing with a foundation bed in the back of my house. It's a new bed that's 12 feet long and 2 and 1/2 feet wide. It's facing south.

So far i've bought:
2 coral bells~palace purple
2 salvia~rose queen
3 jacob's ladder (blue)
1 goats beard~sylvester
1 baby's breath~pink
1 dwarf bleeding heart(might have to put in shade)
1 Clavey's dwarf honeysuckle~which I know nothing about

Maybe they are not the best to go together but on clearance so cheap I had to take them. Any suggestions on how to plant or what to add to the collection. I am so used to shade gardening that I'm lost in the sun.

Sorry forgot to add that I've plenty of pink coneflowers to add to this as well.

Tamara how about some lavender?

anyone who has heard from me knows that I LOVE roses.and they LOVE sunshine. you can sometimes find disease resistant ones.

Thanks, I have some lavender. I'll take a cutting. I can't find a single rose bush anywhere, they are all sold out. I did find a pink potentilla today though.

I think your coral bells are shade loving plants and the babies breath needs a more alkaline soil than most other plants so you make want to bury a pot with the babies breath planted in it. So it looks like part of the garden but isn't really. For me the things I like for the sun are:

Gladiolus
Tulips
Crosus
Hycinthia
Daffodils
Irises

I know bulbs all.

But the other thing is the roses and they have already been mentioned.
