Thanks, Lynne...it was fun to watch them. The daddy was so patient and calm. If it had been the mama, I would never have gotten close enough to take pictures.

Male House Sparrows also do much of the feeding of the babies. I have about 40 baby House Sparrows and notice there are about 5 or 6 daddy House Sparrows doing most of the feeding, at least once the babies leave the nest. While they are in the nest the Mamas do the feeding. You hear the Mama House Sparrows CONSTANTLY urging the babies to leave the nest. No empty-nest syndrome as far as the Mama house Sparrows are concerned. laugh

I have a load of baby and parent chickadees coming to the feedrs now. One baby didn't even flinch when i hung the refilled feeder right under his feet. He just looked at me. I think he was waiting to see if I'd feed him. laugh

I love those pictures!!!! It's so neat to see them being fed like that. I got to see some sparrows doing that on my window feeder a few months ago, it was really cool to watch!
