I was given several voo doo lily (Dracunculus vulgaris) plants as a gift last spring.
I put them in a pot, placed in a sheltered spot and left it alone. There were leaves, but those died back; which is what the plant does after it blooms.
Patience pays off! It is coming up. I saw growth right before the end of the year and now there are leaves and the whole thing is about 6" high.
I'm so excited!

I got one of those too,
but this year will be the first to see it come up,
IF it comes up, I think I'm not quite the right zone, but I put it in a place where I can over winter dahlia's....
Sooooooooo, I am patiently waiting to see if they
sprout..
YIPPIEEEEEEEEEEE if it does...

The only thing isssss, I am not wanting to smell it, I've heard they are really really nasty..
and the only place I had to put it was by the walkway to the back of the house eek

Keep us posted will you Barbie????????
Would love to hear how your's do????

I'll let you know. There are 3 more "sprouts" coming up since I first posted about it...
And yes, it does smell, but I hear it only lasts a day.

Congrats!
Well, mine is still only about 8" tall and not hint of a bloom. I don't have it in the ground and where it is, it gets about 3 hours of sun.
I'm thinking I have it in the wrong place and that I need to go ahead and plnat it in the ground.

Ah, that does make me feel better.
When I get a chance, on Tuesday probably, I'm going to do some more research on these guys.

Excellent.
I'm going to move it into a sunnier spot and water it more. After it blooms (if it does), I'll plant it with my dahlias.
