Hi,
I live in zone 4 and have 5 rose bushes I planted this spring and some have blossoms already.
I am wondering, after the rose blooms and the petals fall off, do I remove the part that the petals were attached to? If so, do I just remove the head of where the rose was or do I cut the stem off?
Thanks,
Dennis

Hey Dennis,

For deadheading when the bloom dies you can cut it off right at the last leaf before where the blossom was. You don't have to wait until all the petals fall off. Unless of course you are harvesting seeds. Then I wait until the stem turns brown and snap it off. I love collecting seeds but doing that decreases the number of blossoms you will have.
