I went to K-Mart today to get potting soil. They had just received a new shipment of perennials that morning...was just looking...didn't really need anything...BUT then the salesguy tells me they are only $1.99 for the gallon size!!! How could I pass that up??? I ended up with a shopping cart full. Now I'm at home and I have absolutely nowhere to put them. Hmmm....
Here's some of what they had:
Doubledecker coneflower Ruby Star coneflower White Swan coneflower Red coreopsis Pink coreopsis Yellow coreopsis Russian Sage White salvia Red daylilies Yellow daylilies Gloriosa daisies
...and several more that I can't remember.
Maybe I could resell them and make a profit!

LOL, Alan. I do the same thing. Had to go out and buy three sheppards hooks to hang three large hanging baskets for $10 a piece. Usually, that size around here run anywhere from $25 and up, so I couldn`t pass them up. No more space in the ground, so I CAN`T buy any more. They have a nice variety of plants. The list you gave, are they the ones you got? Happy planting. Sue

I really need help! Is there a 12 step program for plant addicts? I had a hanging basket with verbena in it that I've had since early march and it was looking ratty, so I decided to go the nursery down the street to find something to replace it. Well...while I was there I found a big, beautiful Black and Blue Salvia and a Prairie Sun Rudbeckia, my favoite Rudbeckia because it has green centers not black or brown. Now all of the plants are sitting on my back porch waiting to be planted only God knows where. I did manage to replace the verbena with some pretty purple Fanflower.

Canada doesn't have K-marts anymore, Kents and Canadian Tire is the place to go for our plant bargains.

No, no, no...I've got the real stupid person story. The K-mart thing was nothing. I was real lucky when my step-father sold his house and moved. Made a lot of money on the sale of the old house and decided to give each of us kids $5,000 dollars just to help us all out. Nice gesture huh? Do I go and save it? Noooooo! Do I spend it on important bills? Noooooo! I spend $2,000 on plants, soil amendments, fertilizers (organic) and tools!!!! It really felt good to be able to just go out and blow money on my addiction with impunity! I'm addicted to plants, I'm addicted to plants!!!! Later on, I remembered I was supposed to pay a rather large bill and needed how much? Yep, $2,000. Lesson learned right? Nah...lol Drug and Alcohol Counselor (no kidding) Terry in Round Rock

The Kmart that had been at our mall forever got taken away years ago with the merger. You know what they built in its place? A stupid super Walmart! :p I miss Kmart too....did you go Cindy?
