Hey all,

Quick question, should I cage my cucs? They're growing well, however they seem to be growing straight up. Should I put a cage on them, or will they eventually lay down and grow.

I've never grown them so any and all help would be great.

you can do it either way. This is the first year I've grown mine in cages and it's working fine. Every other year I've let them grow on the ground but sometimes the dogs break them off when running through the garden.

I might try the cages...mainly because I don't have too much room for them. Thanks for the response!

Hi Patrick,

I caged mine too (1st yr growing them) and they are growing extremely well.

My only concern is that I don't know how big they will get. I planted the ones that only get 4 inch fruit, but the plants seems to be outgrowing the cages.

A good learning experience for me. I wish you the best of luck.

Shawn
