This is my first time planting these, they're evergreen strawberries. I read that you're not supposed to harvest the first season's fruit, that you will have good fruit next year.

Does this hold true for evergreens? What should I do? Am I supposed to pinch off the berries and toss em? And if so, when? When I first see them (as flowers), or after they're big red berries?

Never heard of evergreen strawberrys- sure you dont mean everbearing? Everbearing should produce this year if you planted them early enough (sounds like you did)

Way to go, Amber ! It means to pinch off the flowers. I know it's hard to do, but necessary.
I always leave one plant unpinched so I can get a strawberry or two for fun.

Yes - everbearing. Maybe eversweet?? I suppose evergreen wouldn't make any sense! haha.

So what do you all think about translanting them?
