OP chermoni Member Joined: Jul 2006 The emerald city, home of the ...	I have a friend at work that is growing tomatoes at her house and they have not turned red yet. She was wondering if anyone knows how to get her tomatoes to ripen faster before the weather gets cold.

johnCT Member J Joined: Aug 2005 Connecticut	Without picking them? There really isn't a way to do that. Once they start to blush on the blossom end, you can pick them and let them fully ripen on the kitchen counter.

Tomacco Member T Joined: Aug 2006 Connecticut	chermoni, I picked mine (Sept 21 and very green) and wrapped each one in newspaper. It took about 12 days and they ripened.
