I have a friend at work that is growing tomatoes at her house and they have not turned red yet. She was wondering if anyone knows how to get her tomatoes to ripen faster before the weather gets cold.

Without picking them? There really isn't a way to do that. Once they start to blush on the blossom end, you can pick them and let them fully ripen on the kitchen counter.

chermoni, I picked mine (Sept 21 and very green) and wrapped each one in newspaper. It took about 12 days and they ripened.
