as you know here in quebec p. WE STILL HAVE A LLLOOT OF SNOW ...was just wondering what kind of vegies and flowers i could start indoor or even on a kinda plastic greenhouse thingamagig on the balcony.our temps. right now varies in between 0 and - 10,but most days are around - 5,-6 cl.

suppose i decide to experiment,isn t it half the fun of gardening after all, and put some seed in a plastic bottle of some sort..will it give me something,would it like maybe a good thing to put some peat moss along with the soil.

Most of the time, the problem isn't the
temps during the day... cause the sun will
heat up the insides of your mini~greenhouse..
but it's holding onto that temp after the sun
goes down....

I have a big one, and put 5 minigreenhouse's inside them, and I have trouble keeping it warm
thru the night...in April......

Would you be able to bring the greenhouse inside
at night??

And it can be possible for some cooler weathered
veggies.... like Cabbage, Broccoli's, but I'd still wait a tiny bit for your area...

hello my zone i think is 5,this week we hardly get any sun,it s all grey.

the little thingamagig i was talking about are more like plastic bottles or something ,i saw somewhere someone puting seed in big plastic bottle,don t know how they re gonna transplant it when time comes but once the problem resolve it sounds like a good idea,and yes just maybe i could bring it inside at night,the balcony faces south,is that all right.

i ve read your post about planting letuce in flower pot,i think you put it it you know those long balcony ones,or maybe normal ones;but i though it was a vvveeeerrrrryyyyyy good idea,what a muse you are!!! you give me such good ideas.

Yes, here's my picture of my Swiss Chard
growing in a rectanle flower pot/container...


Very moveable, portable, and affordable..
Just don't over crowd it like I did...
It's better to only have a few than too many..
the plants won't thrive and product/produce
won't be all that good..

And watch water, pots/containers dry out quickly
and must have good drainage...

what a novel idea and it makes a beautiful container.

i m so happy with that idea,could i statrt it now inside or do i have to wait until the soil unfreeze;i would presume i can t put it outside on the balcony now,couldn t i.
