This is a recipe my Grandmother gave me a long time ago. She didn't write the baking temperature down so I use 325 degrees. You may want to try 350 degrees if the cake isn't done in 40-45 minutes.

Jayhawk

Cinnamon Fluff Cake

This makes an 8 by 8 cake bake at 325 degrees

Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening

2 eggs

2/3 cup sugar

1 1/2 cup sifted flour

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup sour milk

Topping: 1 tablespoon cinnamon, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon butter

Mix thoroughly: shortening, eggs, and sugar

Mix thoroughly: flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt

Stir alternately into sugar mixture: flour mixture and sour milk

Grease and flour an 8 inch baking pan, pour in batter.
Rub together the topping ingredients and sprinkle over the batter evenly.

Bake at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes serve with whipped cream or lemon sauce
