I have been having problems with my MG's, the leaves have been turing a light yellow. And then some will die off. Is it becasue I am over or under watering them? Do they need food? I heard if you feed them, they stop blooming. Thanks for any help you can give me. God bless

MG's usually do best in poor soil...too much nitrogen may cause them not to bloom. As for the yellowing leaves, it probably is a watering problem. Too much or too little will cause the lower leaves to turn yellow and fall off, working it's way up the plant. Just try to pay attention to the soil moisture for a while and act accordingly.

Well my soil is pretty poor. LOL It is mostly clay. So it doesn't asorb much at all of the water. I will keep a watch on the soil, to make certain I am not over watering it. Thanks again for your help.

chilady, is it necessary to water them? Usually with morning glories you just leave them alone - kind of like weeds.

Bestofour: I have noticed that if I don't water them they start to die off, and turn brown. I live in central KY, and it just gets too hot here. Our yard is so hard as it is, with out watering my plants. They just all die off. I am wondering if my MG's are just getting too much sun. Even though it says full sun, the ones that get the most sun, are the ones that are dieing on me.

Chilady, I think the extremely hot temperatures we've had this summer have taken their toll on all my plants. thumbup My Morning Glories have always performed quite well in the past with minimal care and very little attention, but this year they are looking pretty wasted! frown frown
