Just wanted to thank you all for the advice to use a moisture meter on my house plants. I "uncovered" my meter after our house move last month. I've been using it consistently for the last couple of weeks. It's made a BIG difference in how much I'm watering my house plants. We're all alot happier for it.

Thanks for the original discussion and suggestion!

Best not to rely solely on a moisture meter to know when to water your plants. Moisture meters measure soil conductivity, which can be affected by variables other than moisture levels, such as soil composition and mineral salts.
