Longy Member Joined: Sep 2004 East Coast	The top of the root part should be an inch across or bigger. Pull one out and have a look. It'll taste good regardless. Baby carrots are yummo.

LandOfOz Member Joined: May 2006 Ks, USA	When is a good time to plant my fall crop of carrots? I just "harvested" my itty-bitty carrots--at least my daughter's hamster enjoyed them. For some reason my carrots are always small here even though I have very sandy soil and they are in the ground much longer than they are supposed to be.
