Last year i bought a Crowm Imperial from spring Bulb Co.

Anyway what time can i expect it to come up?? THanks

They usually start coming up as soon as the weather gets warm for a while. Here in Z6/7, mine start coming up now and usually bloom in mid to late April. In Philly it may take a little longer.

Last fall, Bonnie (ServantsHeart2003) sent me a Crown Imperial bulb & I planted it (on its side, the directions said) but I don't know if it's going to come up or not, with all the rain we've had this winter! I know that if it does come up this year, I may not get blossoms until next year, but how long does it take for it to realize that it's a plant?

I dug it back up about a month ago, to see if it was doing anything, & it didn't look any different than it did when I planted it! (Maybe I shouldn't have done that?)

I haven't seen a sign of life from mine yet either & I'm zone 8B.I planted mine in 20 gallon container.

I planted my first last fall. I wasn't expecting much. It was a Wal-mart special. But there is about two inches of plant there now.
I have heard/read that they do best when undisturbed, so digging and checking is probably not a good idea.
But I've decided to change the area that I did plant it in and will end up transplanting it sometime this year anyway.
