Hi everyone,

Here is an idea to plant flowers in. Since the shoes have to be completely "used up" before throwing them out. I found it is fun to plant flowers in old shoes, that way when the shoes get completely "ratty" you can dispose of them in good conscience. This way they have served any and all purposes, and can then be thrown away. Your hubby or wife may not apreciate it.But I get compliments from friends and family that visit.
Actually I took the idea from my sister who used an old pair of men's work boots. they looked great too

I also used little one's overalls and put flowerpots in the pant legs...I need to perfect this one for next year as my mom would like a pair...lol

I even use spider plants in the waterfall of our pond to help add color.

I have a recycle reuse album on photobucket...feel free to take a look at your leisure....

I've seen the shoes before, and have seen people 'plaster' bigs so they are stiff and made them into planters, but this is way cuter!

I have been meaning too,
I've got a couple more pairs I was
going to do, but just haven't had a spare minute..

I was going to do my mother's front sidewalk to the house from the main sidewalk, and put them up the entire sidewalk.... but just haven't gotten to it..
*slow as slow can be..*

Would you put different shoes on each side of the sidewalk?

I think both of your ideas would be very cute...I would love to see photos when you do them, they would look really nice.
I would like to do up a little brown suitcase and a tricycle....My hubby just smiles smile
It is alot of fun to recycle things to the garden ... and looking for the things is half the fun

There is a post/thread on different container ideas..
I can't think of where it is, as of this typing
*I'm cookin' dinner and heading out to get my van that was broken down in a bit*
but the person who started it was Rue Anemone....
and we had alot of fun ideas for planters..
and she's got some pictures of what she did...

If you can't find it, holler to me later tonight and I will hunt it down for you... thumbup

I have an old toliet, that DH had suggested I use it to plant something in, But never did anything with it, but I do use the tank lid as a bird bath, and I have seen other critters drinking out of it. I'm a packrat, so I always try to figure out a use for every single object. There are a couple of persimmon trees in the back yard that have storm damage and one is dewd..DH said he was going to cut them down, I told him when he does leave a taller stump, I want to use them for...??? something. LOL
