Can BH be planted on the shady side under a Cedar tree? Do any of you have info on this? We have recently redone our yard and until shrubs, trees grow up we have no shade. On the south side of the house is a Cedar tree of which the north side gets afternoon shade/morning sun.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Thank you, Dodge. I wasn't sure if the sap from the tree would hurt the plants. The tree branches are not close to the ground. I had about come to the same conclusion-try
it & see.

Do you know anything about Tulip trees?

The leaves on one of the Tulip trees has turned brown & brittle-probably dying. There are new leaves forming that look great. How old is your tree? Mine is no more than a yr old & right now planted in a while molasses barrel as the permanent site is not ready & won't be until spring. The other tulip tree has no brown leaves, looks great but it is watered differently. Mostly on the ground where the other one was under a sprinkler & I read that can be a cause-Thanks for all your info.
