My Gerber Daisies are beautiful when I first plant them in my containers, but it doesn't take long until they stop flowering and kind of wither. Any suggestions...I really wouold like to have them in my garden?

Gerber Daisies bloom best in cool weather, like spring and fall. Keep them watered throughout the hot summer and they will probably bloom again this fall.

Jodi, you might check your Gerbera Daisies at the crown. If they are planted too deeply, they will develop crown rot and will never bloom for you. Be sure the crown is sitting just above the soil.

Mine are planted in the ground and overwinter here in a very protected spot...a little micro climate spot on the south side of the house. They like moist soil and frequent fertilizing. Morning sun, afternoon shade.

As Alan said, they bloom more in the spring and fall...kinda go dormant in hot weather. Be sure to cut off the spent bloom stem at the base. Mine haven't bloomed since May and won't again until late August or September but the foliage looks pretty. smile

I buy Gerber Daisies every year for my yard (our winters are too cold to keep them) and have the same problem. I never knew they didn't flower when it gets hot... that's probably my problem. I'll also have to try to fertilize more often. Thanks for all the help!
