I recently just cut my dracaena fragans and the new cut of it is doing well and the roots are strong, and it's is growing faster then any plant I own! But the leaves are more pale then the other one I cut it from. Is this a problem if so, how do I correct it?

Hi Celena,

New growth leaves on D. fragrans is often a lighter shade of green that becomes darker as it ages.

Other possible causes include improper soil pH (too alkaline or acidic) and or too much light.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks, I think it's because the cutting is still really young. Do I need to worry about this or will it all turn green soon?

Hi Celena,

As long as the leaves don't look pale and sickly, then they are probably OK. You will have to wait a couple of months before they gradually darken. Relax in the meantime and enjoy the healthy new growth!
